Apple added a faster chip and better video game capabilities to a new titanium shell of the iPhone launch. The biggest surprise with the iPhone 15, Double Tap which will be unveiled on September 22, is that it hasn’t increased prices, reflecting declining demand in the global smartphone market. The iPhone 15 now has a USB-C port, and the Apple Watch Series 9 has a new feature called Double Tap that allows users to control phone calls, music, and alarms by tapping their fingers together.

The iPhone 15 was launched at an event held at the headquarters of the Apple Company in Cupertino, California, USA. The launch comes at a time when China has banned the use of iPhones in government offices and Huawei has launched a new flagship phone after several years.

Apple didn’t spring any blockbuster surprises in the iPhone 15 Type-C Port, and the company’s shares closed down 1.7 percent after the event. Further, there are rumors that the iPhone 15 models will only support USB-C accessories that have been approved by Apple’s MFi program.

Apple company generally avoids using the term artificial intelligence (artificial intelligence), so in the new iPhone, the feature of ‘machine learning’ has been brought.

Moreover, an Apple executive said the company used machine learning to detect a person in the camera frame, a feature that allows users to instantly or later turn a photo into a portrait in the Photos app.

Apple has also introduced new watches, including a Series 9 Watch. It has a feature called ‘double tap’ where users press their thumb and finger together twice without touching the watch to perform tasks like answering a phone call.

Apple Watch ‘Double Tap’ Feature

The Apple Watch’s ‘Double Tap’ feature allows users to answer calls and silence alarms by tapping their thumb and pointer finger together twice.

The Apple Watch uses machine learning to detect small changes in blood flow when a user presses their fingers together, said Jeff Williams, Apple’s chief operating officer. The other hand is then free for things like holding the dog’s leash or holding a cup of coffee.

Both the iPhone Pro and other iPhone 15 models will have a brighter display and 48-megapixel camera, as well as 100 percent recycled cobalt in their batteries.

Apple said the iPhone 15’s satellite connectivity can now be used to call for roadside assistance. It is adding this feature in the US in collaboration with the American Automobile Association.

Type-C Charging

According to the Apple Company, the charging port in the new phone will be type C, which is now considered the standard charging port around the world to reduce electronic waste.

Over the years, Apple has been slowly incorporating USB-C ports into its various devices. In 2015, it became the pioneer in introducing USB-C to laptops. Authorities in Europe had already asked the company to make the Type-C charging port used in iPad and Mac products.

Carolina Milanesi, a technology analyst at Creative Strategies, said the iPhone Pro’s Type-C port would also make it easier for professional photographers to transfer data.

Apple says that the iPhone 15 Pro will also be able to create “spatial videos” with the help of its two cameras, which will be three-dimensional or three-dimensional.
