The iPhone 13 mini is the best iPhone for those who want an easier-to-use smaller device on Apple’s iOS platform. With the release of the new line of iPhone in September, the mini model is back, and it’s more powerful than ever. The 2021 lineup of iPhones feature a mini-sized iPhone 13 that offers a smaller screen but the newest features including the most advanced dual‑camera system ever.

If you don’t prefer a mobile phone with a larger screen, you should probably go for the iPhone 13 because the only compromise with this model is the battery life. Other than that, you can have a look at iPhone 13 Pro and iPhone 13 Pro Max.

iPhone 13 mini is now available to buy. The base storage has doubled this year, but the price is the same as when the iPhone 12 lineup was released. With the 64GB option being discontinued for iPhone 13, the least storage you can get is 128GB, for $699. For bigger storage, you can get the 256GB option for $799 and 512GB for $999.

All these features seem to be good but to make up your mind whether to go for it or not, have a look at what people say it is best for and what are the possible reasons to avoid having it.

Pros

Cons

High storage capacity Smaller display
Bright display Smaller battery life
Solid performance No charger inside the box
Elegant design

iPhone 13 mini Design:

The iPhone 13 mini has a design that is almost the same as its predecessor, with only one minor change; the smaller notch. Apple introduced a 20% smaller notch with the release of the iPhone 13 series, and it certainly makes a difference in the design. The larger screen area is pretty good, even if the notch is still there, which we expect to be gone after some new models in the upcoming years.

The camera setup for the new iPhone 13 has also been changed. The older models had the two cameras vertically, but the iPhone 13 and the iPhone 13 mini have the cameras located diagonally.

Moreover, the size of the iPhone 13 is 5.4 inches, the smallest in the iPhone 13 lineup. However, the mobile itself is quite thicker and heavier than the previous models.

Battery Life:

Apple didn’t disclose the exact capacities of the batteries of the new iPhones, but it did say that the batteries have been improved to allow another hour and a half than the iPhone 12 models. So with that, the battery of the iPhone 13 mini has one charge cycle of about eight and a half hours. Compared to the seven and a half hours battery life of the iPhone 12 mini, it is a significant upgrade.

Performance:

Like every year, Apple upgraded the bionic chip this year, as well from the A14 Bionic chip of the iPhone 12 models to the more powerful A15. With the GPU and the A15 Bionic chip, the iPhone 13 mini turns out to be a powerful phone.

Improved Cameras:

Both the iPhone 13 mini and the iPhone 13 have improved 12-megapixel cameras. The cameras contain a 12-megapixel wide lens, as well as an ultra-wide lens. As a result, the cameras can take night-mode shots with more accuracy than before.

Storage Options:

Apple has ditched the storage option of 64GB in the new iPhone 13 models. Instead, the iPhone 13 mini comes in 128 GB, 256 GB, and 512 GB.

Software:

One of the major updates that come with the iPhone 13 lineup is the release of iOS 15.0. iOS 15 has many new features, such as the focus mode, tweaked notifications, and improvements in FaceTime. Moreover, the latest update brings many upgrades and improvements to the core applications such as Notes and Safari.

Final Verdict:

The iPhone 13 mini released this year continues the legacy of its predecessor with many new features and an improved build. So if you go for smaller phones that can do a lot for you, it’s the iPhone 13 mini that’s going to be the perfect choice for you. But if you have an iPhone 12 mini, it’s probably not worth upgrading to the iPhone 13 mini, but if you have an older phone, you should definitely go for it!
